Relics beds come standard with 4 wood slats to support a Box Spring / Mattress combination.  If you wish to keep the overall height of your bed lower, you may purchase a Slat Roll for Twin and Full beds to be used with a mattress only setup for added support.  Bunk beds come complete with 2 slat rolls.  One painted, for the upper bunk, and one unpainted, for the lower bunk along with 2 guardrails and ladder.
